STRATEGI FORMAT STATION TELEVISI LOKAL MGTV DALAM MENARIK AUDIENSI DI MAGELANG

As a local television station that segmented on every target market, MGTV have targeted audience that ranged from 25-50 years old. MGTV need to format station strategy so that the initial format will not go out of the existed segment, the format that MGTV used is entertainment that shows local potention around Magelang. The theory that used on strategic format, strategy segmenting, targeting, positioning, formatting and programming (STPFP), television station format. The research method used in this paper is qualitative descriptive study. The location choosed for this paper is MGTV station, PT.Mataram Gapura TV metro square blok b 18-19 that located on JL. Mayjen Bambang Soegang Mertoyudan Magelang. This research is conduct using interview to relevant source. The aimed segmentation of MGTV is all variant. Target audience that wanted to be achieved is young adult to senior citiziens. The format of MGTV is smart entertainment that focus on local potention. Positioning that used is "smart and cultural". Programming is achieved by showing all kinds of programs that fitted the existed program which is local potential and information to public about events especially to Magelang public. The result of this research found that the format used by MGTV is fitted with what is needed by public in Magelang and not went out of segment. This proves that program shows by MGTV fitted the format used that shows up the local potention.
