Abstract

Nowadays, the public is growing more consumtive and selective to using a skin brightness cosmetics materials. One of skin brightness cosmetic that used by the public is a cosmetics with vitamin C containing. Based on that issue, the purpose of this research is to determine the diffecerences of the effectivity between using the Vitamin C by oral and topical speciments to brighten the skin of face. This study use an experimental research design with comparison or control. The subjects of this study were 26 students of the medical faculty of University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The subject of oral vitamin C is 13 students and the subjects of topical vitamin C is 13 students. The independent variable in this study is the vitamin C dosage of oral and topical, while the dependent variable is the brightness level of the skin. This measurement is done by measuring the brightness of the skin before and after given the vitamin C by oral and topical use Skin Analyzer tool. The giving of oral and topical vitamin C were observed for 30 days. The data was analyzed by using Independent Sample Test, and the results based on p correlation is 0.658 or p > 0.05 which mean there is no significant difference of effectivity between using the vitamin C Oral and Topical speciments. This study showed there is no difference between the using of vitamin C effective Oral and Topical speciments.
