Abstract

Preah Vihear is a very famous Temple of Cambodia that becomes the main problem for wars between Cambodia and Thailand since Cambodia's. independence. It is make many international organizations helping to find a solution for both states. In the very beginning, International Court of Justice has clearly decided that the temple is belonging to Cambodia's territory. But Thailand seems ignoring, until Cambodia brings out the case into UNESCO and UNESCO World Heritage Committee as the rightful institution decide Preah Vihear Temple as a World Heritage of Cambodia in 2008. Even though after UNESCO decision on the temple is clearly belongs to Cambodia, but the tension between them remains. In this research, the writer use an extensive of relevant published materials, such as, books, journals, reports, newsletters, official websites, and other resources on a wide variety of topics related with the subject of the paper. The purpose of this undergraduate thesis is to explain on how UNESCO's World Heritage Committee decision making process to decide Preah Vihear Temple dispute between Cambodia and Thailand and its impact for Cambodia as the owner state, where the emergence of International Organization is now functioning as a legal institution for states to help them gain interest from other state.
