Abstract
This research is based on the some problems of education in
Indonesia, namely: a) the lack of values on “akhlāq al-karīmah”, b) the
weakening of students character values, and c) deviance of attitude due
to globalization impact.
This study aims to find out the deeper on the comprehensive
quotient education which covers: (1) education on spiritual quotient; (2)
education on emotional quotient; 3) education on adversity quotient; 4)
education on intellectual quotient; And (5) its role on character of
students in Multilingual Program of Madrasah Mu'allimaat
Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
This research is a qualitative research with phenomenology
approach. Data collection techniques used in this study, including:
observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and photo visual data.
The total of research subjects were 17 persons. They were consist of
eight persons of Madrasah stakeholders and nine female students in
Multilingual Program of Madrasah Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta. Research subjects taken in this study are the persons who
really understand the problems in this research. The way of determining
the informant is chosen by purposive sampling which is an informant
determination technique for a specific purpose, and the determination
of the number of informants in accordance with the required data needs
and the subject has been predetermined by the author, and the
informant is believed to provide valid information related to the
problems in this study .
The results of this study are as follows. (1) the transformation of
intrinsic religiosity value in Multilingual students at Madrasah
Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, namely: the deeply
embedded values of religiosity for students. Ritual worship is not just a
practice without meaning, all worship done has a profound impact on
the attitudes and everyday behavior for students; (2) the transformation
of the values on emotional quotient is embedded in the character values
for female students, namely: students have empathy attitude to help
others, having good self-awareness, have the ability to manage moods
and emotions, and having the motivation and ability to build good
communication with others; (3) the transformation values of adversity
quotient, i.e students have high adversity quotient. This is able to be
seen from some evidence, namely: a) be patient, that is refraining when
facing difficulties and trying to find solution; b) be optimistic and have
a resilient spirit, namely the unyielding attitude and a strong attitude to
obtain success in his life; c) having passion and earnest in studying;
And d) trust only to Allah Swt.; (4) the transformation of intellectual
quotient values, namely: a) smart thinking when facing difficulties and
trying to find a solution; b) good academic achievement. (5) The
education of comprehensive intelligence plays a role and has relevance
toward the formation of values of students character of holistic
intelligence, namely: intrinsic values of religion, social values, spirit in
studying, and improvement of student academic achievement in
Multilingual Program in Madrasah Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta.
