Abstract

The aims of this study are to find out the advantages and challenges of peer feedback in writing classes based on the students’ perspective. This study used qualitative method and descriptive design. This research conducted in English Education Department in a private university in Yogyakarta. The participants were six students in third year. This study used purposive sampling. Interview was the instrument of this study. The result shows that students obtain benefits which involve increasing knowledge, increasing understanding, improving students’ writing skill, and improving students’ critical thinking. The result of the challenges shows that students provide inaccurate feedback, students provide insufficient feedback, students focus on syntactic errors, and students provide doubtful feedback.
