Abstract

The Department of Youth and Sports and Tourism of Kebumen Regency strives to promote tourist destinations in order to attract tourists. One of the leading tourist objects in Kebumen Regency is Goa Jatijajar. This study aims to determine the promotional strategy carried out by the Diasporawisata of Kebumen Regency to attract tourists in 2019. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews with Kebumen Regency Diasporawisata employees and documentation by digging up writings or notes that were relevant to the problems studied. The results of the study indicate that the tourism office sets tourist targets in general for all groups of people without mapping out potential groups of tourists. Channels used in promotional activities both personal and non-personal to reach massive audiences. The promotion budget is sourced from the APBD. Promotional mix is used in promotional activities in the form of advertising, public relations and interactive media. The use of advertising in promotional media such as billboards placed in certain locations can attract visits to a tourist attraction. Public relations activities are carried out in collaboration with journalists from the media in conducting coverage that has an impact on reporting in a media. The use of social media is done by showing the natural beauty of the Jatijajar cave. At the evaluation stage, the Tourism Office of Kebumen Regency conducts an evaluation meeting by considering the results of the report on the implementation of the promotion by involving tourism management groups.
