Abstract
Ketua Takmir (the manager at a mosque) occupies the most important position in the process of implementing mosque management. This is due to his position as a leader in the flow of coordination between the members. The leadership role of the mosque manager is similar to the role of management functions. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the management functions in Masjid Baiturrahman Al-Banjari, Tamanan, Banguntapan, Bantul. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, in which the figure of the mosque manager was deeply investigated through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The data collected in this research were analyzed using the basic function theory of management by Griffin, as well as one supporting theory of conflict management styles by Kennet W. Thomas and Ralph H. Kilman. The results of this study prove that the mosque manager has carried out the five management functions, including planning, organizing, leadership, and controlling. In the management process, there are several problems that cause conflicts and disputes. The mosque manager faces several types of conflicts, such as interpersonal conflicts, conflicts between groups, and conflicts of interest. The three conflicts are managed in a certain style that is adapted to the type of conflict that occurs.
