Abstract
Academic achievement is student learning outcomes obtained from learning activities in schools or colleges that look at cognitive aspects. Academic achievement is generally determined through measurement and assessment. Several factors influence academic achievement. One of which is smoking behavior. The impact of cigarette smoke itself triggers the brain, which makes a person weak in thinking power. If allowed to be carried out by early teens, this smoking behavior will have quite a big effect on teaching and learning activities. This study aims to determine the impact of smoking behavior on student learning achievement. This research design uses quantitative research with a correlational design. The data collection tool used a questionnaire and cumulative grades/achievement index. Research variables include smoking behavior as the independent variable and learning achievement as the dependent variable. The population of this study was 8 th and 9th graders of SMP (Junior High School) PGRI Bandongan. The method of data collection used a stratified random sampling technique. Results of the study show that there was no significant effect between smoking behavior on student learning achievement in SMP PGRI Bandongan. After the researcher managed the data, the R Square value was 0.227. Therefore, the influence of smoking behavior on student learning achievement in SMP PGRI Bandongan is 22.7%. In the simple linear regression test, it is known that F count = 49.560 with a significance level of 0.224 > 0.05. Therefore, there is no effect of the smoking behavior variable (X) on the learning achievement variable (Y)
