Abstract

The challenge for students to master Japanese vocabulary is getting bigger, in this case the teaching media is a very important component in order to achieve the goals of learning Japanese. In this study, the teaching media used was Shokyu Nihongo Jplang. This study aims to determine the application and response of students to Shokyu Nihongo Jplang in Shochukyu Mojigoi learning as a supporting media for learning Japanese vocabulary. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research sample is a firstyear student of the Japanese Language Study Program University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta academic year 2021/2022 academic year. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and questionnaires. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed and it can be seen that the application of Shokyu Nihongo Jplang in shochukyu mojigoi learning has been well conceptualized and in accordance with the learning objectives. Student responses to the application of Shokyu Nihongo Jplang teaching media are positive. Shokyu Nihongo Jplang is suitable and feasible to use in learning Shochukyu Mojigoi as a supporting media for learning Japanese.
