Abstract

The merger of three Sharia Commercial Banks, including Bank Syariah Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia Syariah, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia Syariah, has caused employee work stress. Prolonged work stress may potentially result in employee turnover. In addition, employee work stress will affect one's commitment to the organization, one of which is affective commitment. Therefore, a factor is required to reduce the level of employee work stress, one of which is self-efficacy. The respondents in this study were employees of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) with the criteria of being employed before and after the merger. The data collection process was carried out online to 155 employees of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and then processed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through the SmartPLS 3.2 application. The results of the study prove that work stress has a positive effect on turnover intention. In addition, work stress also has a negative effect on affective commitment. However, this study states that selfefficacy cannot moderate the effect of work stress on turnover intention and affective commitment.
