Abstract

Education is a means to build one’s personality. In this regard, SQ and AQ are significant for each individual to own a good spirituality and mental resilience to perform well in daily life. This research aims at analyzing the correlation between spiritual intelligence and adversity quotient. Additionally, this research also aims at analyzing the correlation between spiritual intelligence and adversity quotient among students of Muhammadiyah Junior Highschool 1 Gamping. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational quantitative type. The sampling technique done was simple random sampling. The data compiling technique was done through questionnaires and interviews. Data were then analyzed descriptively through a normality test and product-moment correlational test. The research result showed correlations between spiritual intelligence and adversity quotient among the students of Muhammadiyah Junior Highschool 1 Gamping. (1) The spiritual intelligence level of students of Muhammadiyah Junior Highschool 1 Gamping was at an average category with a mean score of 63. (2) The adversity quotient level of students of Muhammadiyah Junior Highschool 1 Gamping was at an average category with a mean score of 73. (3) The proposed hypothesis was accepted, the correlational test on spiritual intelligence and adversity quotient resulted in a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the product-moment correlational test also indicated the correlation between variable X and variable Y; putting into evidence the correlation between spiritual intelligence and adversity quotient.
