Abstract
Despite their learning activity, students do some additional activities both before and after learning process, including doing parttime jobs. This research aimed at exploring the benefit of doing parttime job and the challenges faced by students based on the view of English Language Education Department’s (ELED) students. In addition, this research intended to find out the solutions on the stated challenges. This research invited six ELED students to voluntarily participate as participants in this current research. By employing descriptive qualitative as the research design, the data were obtained through an in-depth interview to each participant. The results revealed that the benefits of doing parttime were earning extra money and enriching there difficulties in managing the time, having stress and fatigue after working, having bad academic achievement, and crashing study and working hours. As the solutions to tackle the challenges, the participants stated that they did a good time management, balancing the study and work hours, being a professional, and setting up the priority. The result of this study is expected to give broad and specific illustration of dynamic phenomenon of parttime on the students’ view.
