The Batang shipyard workers produce almost 3 large fishing vessels every year. The process of making a ship that is fairly heavy requires high safety and security standards. The safety and security of these workers must be fulfilled by the shipyard owners and the supervision of the local government so that there is no fraud by the shipowners against shipyard workers. The production and creation of the documentary film “Menggalang Kapal” aims to inform the public about the conditions in the field about shipbuilders in the Shipyard and provide information about the safety of shipbuilding at the Batang shipyard through documentary films. It is told in an expository style with a narrative approach and a portrait genre. This film tells the story of Agus Diaman who works under meager conditions and wages and does not have work accident insurance in Shipyard. In making this documentary, several methods were used, such as research, determining the theme, determining the story, planning the production schedule, determining the means of production, taking pictures, to the editing process at the postproduction stage. The application of an expository style with a narrative approach was chosen to make it easier for the audience to understand the content and core problems experienced by the workers at the Batang Shipyard.
