Abstract
This study aims to describe the representation of social inequality in the film Parasite by director Bong Joon-ho. Its representation is a reflection of the reality that occurs in the society where the film originates, South Korea. This study uses a descriptive approach and the method used in this study is the semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes. The source of this research is a scene that contains visuals and audio or a conversation in the film Parasite which shows the existence of social disparities in South Korean society. This study found that there are gaps between social classes in various aspects: aspects of residence, aspects of education, aspects of work, aspects of lifestyle, and also digital aspects. These five aspects indicate the reality of the upper social class will always have privileges and opportunities, while the lower social class will always be a system that continues to support the stability of class life above it.
