Abstract
Stress is a state of tension that affects emotions, thought processes, and a person's condition so that it can cause negative cognitive, emotional, physiological, and behavioral impacts. There are many factors that can cause stress on students, especially in medical students. The cause of stress can come from the individual itself, from the environment, both the family environment and the environment of residence, age and also gender. This study aims to determine the impact of demographic factors on students stress level in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Methods : The design of this research is quantitative descriptive. Data were obtained directly from respondent using questionnaire with cross-sectional designs in students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The questionnaire used Self Reporting Questionnaire that consist of 20 questions (SRQ-20). Statistical analysis to see the impact of demographic factors on students stress level using the Chi-Square test. Result : In this research shows that there is no impact of demographic factors on studets stress level in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The impact of age on studets stress level in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is 40,6%, and for gender is 40,6%, and also for living place is 40,6%. Conclusion : There is no impact of demographic factors on students stress level in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta with the amount of the impact is 40,6% and 59,4% the others is impacted by another variable.
