Abstract
This study aims to (1) Know the obstacles faced in implementing the learning strategy of PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam – Islamic Education) to Grade 5 students during the Covid- 19 pandemic at SDN Bintaran and SDN Banyakan (2) Describe the learning strategy of PAI during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN Bintaran and SDN Banyakan. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 24 informants namely two PAI teachers of Grade 5, two school principals, 10 students of Grade 5, and 10 guardians from SDN Bintaran and SDN Banyakan. The data collection techniques in this study were in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. While the technical analysis in this study used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results illustrate that: (1) There are differences and similarities in the obstacles faced by teachers. The difference is, (a) The internet coverage in SDN Bintaran is not a fundamental problem. Meanwhile, most SDN Banyakan students live in highland areas so that their internet network is hampered. The similarities in the obstacles are: (a) The limitation of the internet quota. (b) The effectiveness of the PAI learning evaluation. (3) The delay in submitting assignments. (2) The learning strategy of PAI is carried out with 3 components: planning, implementation, and evaluation. (a) Strategic planning: the teacher makes a simple lesson plan (RPP). The learning media used are the Whatsapp platform, videos, Youtube, PAI student workbook, and Al-Qur’an. (b) Strategy implementation: pre-learning activities in the form of greeting interactions. (c) Evaluation and assessment: in the form of multiple-choice tests with varied combinations: summarizing tasks, retelling, taking lessons, and so on. The conclusion is that the learning strategies of PAI in SDN Bintaran and SDN Banyakan mostly fall into the online version of the Expository learning strategy type because the dominant method used by the PAI teachers is a one-way approach, students are not required to find material because the material has been prepared by the teacher, the emphasize is on students’ speech
