Abstract
The aims of this research are (1) to reveal the Ismuba teacher’s problematics in the Moral Beliefs learning and (2) to reveal the efforts to overcome the problematics faced by Moral Beliefs teacher. This research implemented qualitative research method and the type is field research (penelitian lapangan). The subject of the research is an Ismuba teacher especially Moral Beliefs in Muhammadiyah 5 Senior High School Yogyakarta. The techniques of data collection were interview, observation, and documentation. Based on the research results on problematics faced by Ismuba teacher in teaching Moral Beliefs in Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Senior High School, it can be concluded that: (1) Based on the teacher’s statement on teacher who teach Moral Beliefs, the problem faced by teacher was implementing the values of Moral Beliefs lesson in daily life. (2) There were many students who ignore the Moral Beliefs even though they understood the Moral Beliefs materials delivered by their teacher (this is stated by the teacher in the interview session). Thus, the Moral Beliefs lesson cannot be internalized in students’ daily life yet. (3) The Moral Beliefs teacher was not strict enough in observing students’ morals, due to the fact that if the teacher conducted an action to deal with students, bigger problems might arise (this information is obtained in the interview).
