Abstract
Cupping therapy is one of the complementary treatments with bleeding that is quite popular in the world and many countries have regulated its practice, including in Indonesia. Cupping is a treatment given by the Prophet Muhammad SAW and in modern times cupping has been proven to have many benefits. Even though it has various benefits, in the preliminary study, students' perceptions and attitudes towards tendencies are still negative. To find out the characteristics of FKIK UMY students who became respondents and identify the perceptions and attitudes of FKIK UMY students towards cupping therapy (hijamah). This research is a quantitative research that uses a descriptive research design. This study used a cross sectional approach, with one time data collection. The number of respondents in this study were 212 students consisting of 4 study programs at FKIK UMY. In this study, it is known that the characteristics of the respondents with the majority being male who have scores based on 20-21 years based on the medium category, as many as 163 students (76.9%) for a good perception of 49 students (23.1%) and for perception. Bad response to cupping therapy was not found. Respondents had a moderate attitude category, as many as 153 students (72.2%) for a good attitude a number of 59 students (27.8%) and for a bad attitude towards cupping therapy was not found. The perceptions and attitudes of FKIK UMY students towards cupping therapy (hijamah) were in the medium category
