Abstract

This study aims to determine the recovery strategy of the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office during the new normal period. Strategy is a plan accompanied by efforts made to achieve a goal. The new normal period is a transition period or also commonly referred to as the New Habit Adaptation (IMR) caused by Covid-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019). The spread of Covid-19 has made Indonesia experience a slump, especially the tourism sector. This research takes place at the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office, which is authorized to take care of tourism in the Yogyakarta City area. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The impact felt on the tourism sector is a decrease in the number of tourist visits because people stay at home in line with the government's appeal to reduce mobility. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many habits in activities, namely the obligation to wear masks, wash hands and avoid crowds. The Yogyakarta City Tourism Office has made many efforts to bring in tourists so that people who rely on tourism for a living can continue to survive, one of which is collaborating with many stakeholders to suppress Covid-19 cases, distributing tourism grants for tourism purposes and organizing virtual events etc. . It is hoped that the strategy carried out by the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office can achieve the target according to the objectives. Suggestions in this study are expected that the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office complements the existing deficiencies from the evaluation carried out so that the strategies implemented can be fully implemented. In addition, the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office can coordinate more with other city tourism offices to find out more about the innovations carried out and the service can open online complaints, criticism and suggestions service contacts.
