Abstract
This research aims to analyze online games among class VIII of MTs Muhammadiyah
Trucuk, the students learning motivation of class VIII of MTs Muhammadiyah Trucuk. The
problem in this research is how online game influences the learning motivation of students class
VIII of Mts Muhammadiyah Trucuk and whether online game gives any influence on the learning
motivation of students class VIII of Mts Muhammadiyah Trucuk. This research is a quantitative
research model. This research was conducted at MTs Muhammadiyah Trucuk Klaten Regency.
The population of the research was those of class VIII students at MTs Muhammadiyah Trucuk in
a total of 123 students. Samples were taken from 48 students out of the total number of students in
class VIII at MTs Muhammadiyah Trucuk through the odd-even technique. The instruments used
in this research were observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was done using a descriptive
statistical test and a simple linear regression test.
The results are as follows: (1) Online games gave a significant influence on student’s
learning motivation indicated by the value of p ≤ 0,05 (2) The result of the data analysis showed
the value of Sig. 0.000 < -7.21. Thus, it can be concluded that online games give negative and
significant influences on student’s learning motivation to the extent of 62,5%.
