Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of fashion orientation, lifestyle, money attitude and
self-esteem on compulsive smartphone purchasing behavior among students with case studies
on students and female students in Yogyakarta. The subjects of this research are college
students and female students and have changed their smartphone at least once in 3 years or 36
months of use.
This study used a sample of 160 respondents who were determined by sampling technique
using non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method. The analytical tool used in
this research is using AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structure) 24 software.
The results of this study indicate that fashion orientation has a positive and significant effect
on compulsive smartphone purchases among students in Yogyakarta. Lifestyle has a positive
and significant effect on compulsive smartphone purchases for students in Yogyakarta. money
attitude has a positive and significant effect on compulsive smartphone purchases for students
in Yogyakarta. And self-esteem has a positive and significant effect on compulsive smartphone
purchases for students in Yogyakarta.
