Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interpersonal communication and the ta'aruf (getting acquainted before marriage) process on the emotional regulation of husband/wife at Rumah Ta'arufQu. The study applied quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis to determine the simultaneous effect of the two variables X on Y. To determine the effect of each variable X on Y, a T-test was taken. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect between interpersonal communication and the ta'aruf process on the emotional regulation of husband/wife simultaneously. It can be seen from the significance level or probability value of 0.000 which is less than 0.05. Then partially, the interpersonal communication variable (X1) has a significant effect on the emotional regulation of husband/wife since the probability value is 0.000 which is less than 0.05. While in the variable (X2), the ta'aruf process does not have a significant effect on emotion regulation since the probability value is 0.333 which is greater than 0.05.
