Abstract

The communication style of KPI UMY students is seen to have a distortion which influence the change of Islamic communication style. Therefore, problems in communication distortion such as morale decline in communication based on Islamic way is considered as the main problem. This research aims at finding out the influence of Islamic self-actualization towards communication style of students of Islamic Broadcasting and Communication Department of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University. The sampling is done at the end of February until March 2021. The research method is quantitative, the data collection implemented questionnaire, meanwhile the data analysis applied SPSS to check quantitative data. Moreover, the data collection was done by conducting interview and sharing from data analysis. The research reveals that there is an influence of self-actualization towards communication style in Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University resulting in data about students’ Islamic actualization, as an example, the way they dress and smoke which influence psychological communication style.
